We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team, working on-site from our Toronto office. In this role you will be a key member of our Finance function, contributing directly to our goals and working closely with talented colleagues across the business.
This is a hands-on role with real ownership and impact. You will apply your skills in Accounting, Reconciliation and Financial Reporting to solve interesting problems, ship work you can be proud of and help us raise the bar for what we do. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, share your ideas openly and have the support you need to do your best work and grow along the way.
You will bring around 7 to 11 years of relevant experience and strong, practical knowledge of Accounting, Reconciliation and Financial Reporting. Just as important are clear communication, sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with people across different teams and backgrounds. Experience leading projects, mentoring others and influencing decisions will set you up for success in this role.
Within your first few months, you will get up to speed with our products, processes and people, build strong working relationships across the team, and begin taking ownership of your own work. Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant at Terra Works, you will play a central role within our Finance function and take ownership of a broad and varied set of responsibilities. Working alongside a collaborative, motivated team, your day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:- Own key projects end to end, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring successful delivery.
- Define and improve processes, standards and ways of working across the team.
- Build and maintain financial models to support decision-making, scenarios and investment cases.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital and key financial metrics and flag risks early.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations and internal controls.
- Present financial findings and recommendations clearly to non-finance audiences.
- Support the budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles, and track performance against targets.
- Prepare, analyse and present accurate financial statements, reports and management information.
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve margins and strengthen financial discipline.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with policy and regulatory requirements.
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities including reconciliations, accruals and month-end close.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial visibility and process efficiency.
- Support audits, both internal and external, by preparing schedules and responding to queries.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide clear, actionable insights to business stakeholders.
- Collaborate respectfully and effectively with colleagues across teams, functions, time zones and locations.
- Continuously develop your skills, seek feedback and stay current with the latest developments in your field.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred)
