About the role

Abhaya Motors is a Beauty & Personal Care company founded in 1998 and based in Rourkela, India. As a growing organisation of 51 to 200 employees, we combine the pace, ambition and ownership of a modern business with a genuine commitment to quality, integrity and the people who work here. Abhaya Motors is a beauty & personal care firm rooted in Rourkela, Odisha, established in 1998 with strong regional ground presence. By keeping operations close to customers, the firm offers faster service and stronger after-sales support. You can learn more about us at https://www.abhayamotors.ai.

We are looking for an experienced Product Designer to join our team, working on-site from our Rourkela office. In this role you will be a key member of our Design function, contributing directly to our goals and working closely with talented colleagues across the business.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership and impact. You will apply your skills in Product Design, Sketching and CAD to solve interesting problems, ship work you can be proud of and help us raise the bar for what we do. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, share your ideas openly and have the support you need to do your best work and grow along the way.

You will bring around 3 to 6 years of relevant experience and strong, practical knowledge of Product Design, Sketching and CAD. Just as important are clear communication, sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with people across different teams and backgrounds.

Within your first few months, you will get up to speed with our products, processes and people, build strong working relationships across the team, and begin taking ownership of your own work. Over time, you will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise, take on broader scope and grow your career with us as the company continues to scale.

In return, we offer a supportive, inclusive and collaborative environment, competitive pay, meaningful benefits and the chance to do work that genuinely matters. We care about our people, invest in their growth and want everyone here to be able to do the best work of their careers.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. Abhaya Motors is an equal-opportunity employer: we welcome applicants of all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse team and an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. Apply today and tell us why you would be a great fit.

Responsibilities

As a Product Designer at Abhaya Motors, you will play a central role within our Design function and take ownership of a broad and varied set of responsibilities. Working alongside a collaborative, motivated team, your day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Run usability testing and iterate on designs based on qualitative and quantitative insights.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering to ensure designs are feasible and faithfully implemented.
- Lead the design of intuitive, accessible and visually compelling experiences from initial concept through to final delivery.
- Balance user needs, business goals and technical constraints to arrive at pragmatic, elegant solutions.
- Present and defend your design rationale to stakeholders, and incorporate feedback constructively.
- Conduct and synthesise user research to ground design decisions in real customer needs and behaviours.
- Maintain a high bar for craft, attention to detail and brand consistency in everything you ship.
- Prepare clean, well-organised handoff files and specifications for engineering.
- Advocate for the user and for good design practice throughout the product development process.
- Contribute to and evolve the design system, maintaining consistency across products and platforms.
- Stay current with design trends, tools and accessibility standards, and share learnings with the team.
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes and high-fidelity designs that clearly communicate your ideas.
- Communicate progress, risks and blockers clearly and proactively to your manager and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure your work meets agreed quality, compliance and security standards before it is considered complete.
- Collaborate respectfully and effectively with colleagues across teams, functions, time zones and locations.
- Plan and manage your workload to balance quality, speed and competing demands.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and bring forward practical ideas to make our products, processes and ways of working better.
- Contribute actively to a positive, inclusive, supportive and collaborative team culture.
- Represent the team and the company professionally in internal and external interactions.
- Take full ownership of your work, manage your own priorities and consistently deliver to a high standard and on time.
- Proactively flag dependencies and coordinate with other teams to keep work moving smoothly.
- Support and step in for teammates when needed to help the team meet its shared goals.
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, learning from mistakes and celebrating shared wins.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, care and integrity at all times.
- Adapt to changing priorities and remain calm, focused and effective in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
