Node.js Developer

As a Node.js Developer, you build scalable backend services and APIs. You will handle everything from request routing and database access to caching and queues, keeping services responsive under load. The role suits someone comfortable with asynchronous JavaScript who enjoys building reliable, well-tested backend systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain APIs and microservices in Node.js
• Work with Express or Nest and integrate SQL and NoSQL databases
• Implement authentication, caching, rate limiting, and message queues
• Write clean, asynchronous, well-tested code with proper error handling
• Design and document REST/GraphQL API contracts
• Monitor, debug, and optimise service performance and memory usage
• Build integrations with third-party services and webhooks
• Support CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments
• Collaborate with front-end teams on data needs and contracts

What we're looking for

• 2-4 years of backend development with Node.js
• Strong grasp of asynchronous JavaScript, Express, or Nest
• Experience with MongoDB and/or SQL databases
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, and CI/CD basics
• Understanding of API security and performance tuning
• Good to have: TypeScript, Redis, and message brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ)
• Good to have: experience with microservices and cloud platforms
