About the role

Kindred Solutions is a Veterinary company founded in 1985 and based in Sydney, Australia. As a growing organisation of 51 to 200 employees, we combine the pace, ambition and ownership of a modern business with a genuine commitment to quality, integrity and the people who work here. Founded in 1985, Kindred Solutions is a veterinary company headquartered in Sydney, Australia. By blending automation, data, and human insight, the firm consistently raises the bar for quality and speed. You can learn more about us at https://www.kindredsolutions.us.

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team, working on a hybrid basis from our Sydney office and from home. In this role you will be a key member of our Sales function, contributing directly to our goals and working closely with talented colleagues across the business.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership and impact. You will apply your skills in Business Development, Lead Generation and Partnerships to solve interesting problems, ship work you can be proud of and help us raise the bar for what we do. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, share your ideas openly and have the support you need to do your best work and grow along the way.

You will bring around 4 to 7 years of relevant experience and strong, practical knowledge of Business Development, Lead Generation and Partnerships. Just as important are clear communication, sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with people across different teams and backgrounds.

Within your first few months, you will get up to speed with our products, processes and people, build strong working relationships across the team, and begin taking ownership of your own work. Over time, you will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise, take on broader scope and grow your career with us as the company continues to scale.

In return, we offer a supportive, inclusive and collaborative environment, competitive pay, meaningful benefits and the chance to do work that genuinely matters. We care about our people, invest in their growth and want everyone here to be able to do the best work of their careers.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. Kindred Solutions is an equal-opportunity employer: we welcome applicants of all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse team and an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. Apply today and tell us why you would be a great fit.

Responsibilities

As a Business Development Manager at Kindred Solutions, you will play a central role within our Sales function and take ownership of a broad and varied set of responsibilities. Working alongside a collaborative, motivated team, your day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Translate strategy into concrete plans and measurable outcomes for the team.
- Represent your function in cross-functional and leadership discussions.
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations tailored to each prospect's context.
- Manage contract renewals and identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospect needs and position the right solution and value proposition.
- Build, manage and accurately forecast a healthy sales pipeline using the company's CRM and sales tools.
- Negotiate commercial terms and close deals while protecting margins and long-term customer relationships.
- Represent the company professionally at meetings, events and industry conferences.
- Consistently meet or exceed individual monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Gather and share market and competitor intelligence and customer feedback with internal teams.
- Develop and nurture strong, trusted relationships with prospects, customers and key decision-makers.
- Collaborate with marketing, product and customer success to ensure a smooth end-to-end customer journey.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all activity, opportunities and communications in the CRM.
- Identify, research and qualify new business opportunities through outbound prospecting and inbound lead follow-up.
- Communicate progress, risks and blockers clearly and proactively to your manager and relevant stakeholders.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, care and integrity at all times.
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, learning from mistakes and celebrating shared wins.
- Plan and manage your workload to balance quality, speed and competing demands.
- Adapt to changing priorities and remain calm, focused and effective in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
- Ensure your work meets agreed quality, compliance and security standards before it is considered complete.
- Take full ownership of your work, manage your own priorities and consistently deliver to a high standard and on time.
- Support onboarding, knowledge-sharing and documentation so the wider team can learn, scale and succeed.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and step in for teammates when needed to help the team meet its shared goals.
- Represent the team and the company professionally in internal and external interactions.
- Proactively flag dependencies and coordinate with other teams to keep work moving smoothly.
- Uphold the company's values, policies, security requirements and standards of professional conduct in all activities.
- Maintain accurate, thorough documentation and keep all relevant systems, tools and trackers up to date.
